Cats and Pumpkins

As we continue with October, students in grades 1 and 2 are learning about cats, pumpkins and a few more fun characters. We discuss letter sounds and word sounds. What is the difference? And why is this important in music?

Ask your child about cats, pumpkins and syllables. See if they can tell you how many syllables are in different words? Can they put them in a pattern?

Lastly, we have begun talking about strong and weak beats; learning about why beat 1 is always so strong!
